Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert (Isaiah 43:19).

My family celebrated the new year together with our friends and their families. We gathered to start our new year in prayer of thanks giving and claiming victory for the approaching year. Secondarily,  to have an eating fellowship with them which is always present to Filipino gathering like us.

Prior to the main activity, we were to pick a piece of paper from two different boxes and combined to create a declaration of what the latter year made you blessed and to claim what to thank for the upcoming year.

We picked, “I am blessed because of the good health” and “I thank the Lord for the love.” Each of us testified.

Surprisingly, most of the couples testimony was that they faced tough situations of their lives. All have life struggles in their family’s health, job, relationship, loss of a love-one and finances became the common thing which I thought that we are the only one who had an intense battles that year. When I heard, my heart broke and secretly wipe my tears as I felt the feeling if you are in that kind of situations. But the same was made my heart blessed, strong and encouraged to face the future with bright hope and victory as all of them said that above all these fights, lesson learnt to persevere because of the grace, mercy and great love of God is more than sufficient . Because God was with them who never left them nor forsaken them. The God who comforted them, who sustained them, who healed them, who defended them, who reconciled them, who restored them, who preserved them, who reconciled them and most of all He is the God who miraculously saved and delivered them.

Therefore, this new year is a new beginning which I believed that new things are yet to be done in  to our lives by our all powerful Father.  Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert (Isaiah 43:19). From today and beyond, rest in the safety of our Fathers love and protection for the hand of God is upon us. Whatever crises in life, commit to the Lord by entrusting everything – our lives, families, jobs and possessions to his control and guidance. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. (Proverbs 3:5-6).
