Mountain Moving Prayer

Matthew 21:21-22 “21 Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. 22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Prayer is a weapon that defeats stronghold and removes any blockades of the outpouring of God’s blessings.

A prayer that uses WORD makes it more powerful and effective.

A prayer to be develops that removes roadblocks?

I. PRAY WITH A FAITH-FILLED HEART

Matthew 21:21 “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done”

A prayer with confidence that removes roadblocks is a prayer with faith comes from looking at God not at the mountain.

What are these roadblocks/mountains?

Job = crisis

Bear a child = barrenness

Sickness = finances/stage 4

Ministry = inadequacy/too much confidence

A faith filled heart is a heart that

  • NEVER FOCUS ON THE MOUNTAIN but praying intensely to creator of the world, the King of the Universe, the all-powerful, the all-knowing, the all-faithful God who made the mountains and can move the mountain if necessary.
  • GOD GIVES US FAITH AS WE WALK WITH HIM Joshua 3 illustrates this principle. The Israelites camp on the bank of the Jordan River.  After 40 years earlier of miraculous escape from Egypt – they have been wandering in the rugged wilderness all their need met by God. Now the Promise Land, Canaan but they have an enourmous problem. A river is directly in their path and no convenient around it.  To make it worse, it is flood season. It is impassable, turbulent and menacing (frightening).

          God can subside the water at their very eyes, or he could throw a bridge but he doesn’t. Instead he gives Joshua same strange orders that he passes on the camp.

  • V.11 keep an eye on the ark of the covenant as soon as they see the priest carry it.
  • Expect amazing things to happen verse 3
  • V.8 pick the ark and go stand at the River.

                   Joshua 3:15-27 v.15 as feet reach the water, the water stopped flowing till the whole nation had completed crossing on the dry ground.

Therefore to pray so filled with faith that it can move mountain is BY shifting your focus on the size of your mountain to the Sufficiency Mover – Lord Jesus Christ stepping forward with obedience. As you walk with God your faith will grow, your confidence will increase and your prayer will have power.

The real reason that our prayer were weak was that our faith were weak.

 II.  PRAYER WITH A BELIEVING HEART

Matthew 21: 22 “If you believe,…”

        Many of us have pressing personal needs and serious problems that ravage (devastate/destroy) our lives, but we don’t ask God for help because of UNBELIEF  - we don’t believe the power of God. The fact is of course God is capable in handling any problems we could bring Him.

Creating the planet is not much a problem for him.

Neither raising the dead and

Nothing is difficult for God to handle but He is waiting for us to recognize his power and ask for Help.

The real reason that God can’t move was the problem in our prayer life was in our heart we did not believe that He could do anything about our messes (disorders). Admitting to God was very embarrassing but it is a cleansing.

God has the ability to accomplish anything:

  • Exodus 14, Joshua 3 – God parted the see
  • People were hungry – he dropped food from heaven or multiplied fish and bread (Exodus 16, John 6:1-13)
  • When the storm endangered the lives of disciples, he stilled it (Mark 4:35-41)
  • When Moses people were thirsty, he send water through the dry rock (Exodus 17:1-7)

                       Is there anything impossible with the Lord? Never look in your inadequacy instead of Gods adequacy (capability). God is able.

III. GOD’S PROMISE: YOU WILL RECEIVE WHATEVER YOU ASK FOR IN PRAYER

Matthew 21:22 “… you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

God promise to do / answer things for those who cry out to him through Prayer and show you great and mighty things that was previously unknown or unknowable is made known. Jeremiah 33:33 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.

Conclusion:

Therefore, pray with a faith filled and a believing heart and God could do miracle in your life!

  • To put marriage back together
  • To provide job or change something about your job
  • To bring home a straying son and daughter
  • To strengthen out your finances
  • To bring back health and healing to your body
  • To cleanse and forgive you from all your committed sins rebellion against God
  • To bring loved ones to Christ.

                Give thanks to the Lord Almighty for the Lord is good.  His love endures forever.

                If He loves, it is impossible that he wouldn’t provide all your needs! Amen?

Glory to God.
